Botanical Prints & Drawings

This body of work began during the Spring lockdown of 2020. Plants and objects in Sophie's surrounding environment and on daily walks became her focus. What started as an exercise to practice drawing became a way to focus her mind and spurred a new direction in her artwork. Making these drawings were moments to stop, focus and contemplate on the beauty of the forms in nature.

The images with pink dots or blue triangles started as screen prints. These were used as backgrounds for the drawings and have been further developed as reproduction prints with metallic leaf applied by hand.
